How to keep a mountain bicycle cleaned/performance.?
So after i posted my question earlier today about the Giant ATX 860 i did go and buy the bicycle I’ve never had a bicycle like this witch it is an older MTB and so on.The wired cables are old and in a bit of a rust though it does switch each gear outstandingly easy for a 14 year old bicycle.How can i clean them or is it possible?If not how much would it cost for a bicycle shop to re-new my cables?Also does anybody know a website on how to keep your bicycle cleaned and performing as it is now without removing many components of the bicycle? Thanks.
One more thing what is the easiest way of learning how to true my wheel sets?
You can do the work yourself. For the rust on the cables use a lite oil with some fine steel wool. Get some good chain oil. The bicycle tutor has some great videos on maintaining your bike. The Park Tool site has very helpful info also and will tell you what tools you need to do the job.
