What happens if i left water in my Sigg Water Bottle for a year? Is it safe to drink out of now?
I was in a show last year around this time, and I was using a Sigg water bottle…subsequently I tucked it away and forgot about it, (with water inside) and now I’m in another show, and I decided to search for my water bottle since I was getting thirsty backstage. Found it slightly filled with VERY old water…do you think it’s safe to drink out of? What could have happened to it?
Don’t drink out of it. If bacteria or mold were in the water, they would’ve had plenty of time to grow. I would suggest emptying out the bottle, scrubbing it, and disinfecting it by filling it with diluted bleach and letting it soak for a while, possibly overnight. Wash it with soap & water afterwards to remove the bleach. Be sure to do the same with the lid.
Keep in mind the bleach may affect any color on the bottle.
